Thea McGarry and Keira Griswold each contributed four points for Montclair. McGarry finished with three goals and one assist, while Griswold added two goals and two assists. Louisa Brashares and Delilah Nicoll each scored twice for the visitors.
Michaela Zimany led Verona (1-3) with eight points on five goals and three assists. Sophia Simon added two goals and two assists, while Sam Venner recorded two goals and one assist. Venner also collected eight ground balls in the losing effort.
Caitlin Chevalier made eight saves in goal for Verona. Montclair used two goalies, with Sefina Morrison and Ruby Grodner combining for four saves.
Montclair held a slight edge in shots on goal, 19-18, while Verona controlled possession with 27 ground balls compared to Montclair’s eight.
